Born in Tokyo in 1943. In 1970, I went to Paris and went to New York the following year. He returned to Paris again in 1972, went to Sherbourg Art School, and continued to paint for a year. Returned to Japan in 1973. In 1985, he won the Silver Prize at the Belgian Domelhov International Contest. In 1988, he exhibited an invitation to the Switzerland Glenchen International Print Exhibition.
Received the Shogakukan Painting Award for "Gaddolf's Yuri" (Kenji Miyazawa/Kaiseisha), which was announced in the magazine "Monthly MOE". "Makoto Araba" (Kakusha Kodansha Kodansha) won the Kodansha Publishing Culture Award for other works. Received the Japanese Picture Book Award for the picture book "The cat is coming in the tomorrow" (Chihiro Ishizu/Kodansha Ishizu).
There are "Italian Road" (Kodansha), which summarizes sketches while staying in Italy, "Really Lie" (Chikuma Shobo), and "The Fourth Moon" (Genjo Shobo). Masayuki Hosoya, his real name, also publishes print works.
