Born in Hokkaido in 1948. He has been in charge of various animals for 25 years as a keeper of Asahiyama Zoo, Asahikawa City, and has begun to create picture books after writing to town magazines. Retired from Asahiyama Zoo in 1996 and concentrated on creative activities.
