Ryo Katao
Born in 1949 in Kumamoto Prefecture.
I started doing illustration work around 1980.
He has a unique monochrome style that makes full use of pencils of various hardness, and is active in book cover illustrations and illustrations.
His illustrations for children's books include ``Star Fortress'' (Katsushige Shibata/Bun Rironsha) and ``[Horror Selection] Psycho'' (edited by Kanko Akagi, Poplar Publishing).
Picture book “Snowfall” (written by Kenji Miyazawa)MIKI HOUSE) won the Kenbuchi Picture Book Village Bibakarasu Award. My hobby is building models of ships etc.
Passed away in April 2018.
