I am drawn to the rhythm of Kenji's unique words (onomatopoeia) that makes me want to read them out loud.

Dynamic pictures perfectly express surprise and wonder. It stirs the reader's imagination.

Born in 1957 in Nagano Prefecture. Graduated from the printmaking department of Sokei Art School.
In 1986, he won the Grand Prize of The Choice Annual Award.
